Role overview:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager and as part of the overall EMEA Supply Chain team, the Customer Service Specialist will be responsible for maintaining an ongoing relationship with internal and external customers served from the Limerick facility and will stay connected with the Supply Chain network at factories within the division. The person in this role will have daily exposure to and interaction with customers in a dynamic environment and will be expected to manage customer accounts.
The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for interpreting and analysing customer inquiries, generating customer quotes, processing customer purchase orders, providing status updates, prices, and following up accordingly. This role will also cover intercompany procurement from other plants into Limerick. Their customers as well as their products are technical in nature.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly handling customer accounts and processing inquiries, quotes, orders. Providing updates on status and any other customer related aspects. Providing customer service to external customers by answering technical questions on products, expediting orders, and managing credit problems and customer complaints.
- Working in a high-paced, customer-oriented environment, and partnering with the Production, Logistics, Quality, and management teams in the factory for timely service to the customers.
- Procuring inter-company materials as required by the external demand by creating purchase orders and coordinating the delivery dates to meet the external customers’ needs.
- Reviewing open sales and purchase order reports on a daily basis to ensure that every requirement is addressed. Escalating timely to local plant management and EMEA Supply Chain management when the situation pertains to it.
- Partnering with the EMEA Supply Chain and other colleagues from the customer service network to seek, pursue, and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to solution and processes impacting Supply Chain and customer support as a whole.
- To undertake any other relevant duties as requested by management.
Person Specification
Education and Experience:
• Proven track record in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience in a Customer Service, Procurement, or other area of Supply Chain
• High level of professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal English.
• Good working knowledge of ERP system, ideally SAP.
• Strong understanding of the order fulfilment process.
• Proficient in MS office (Word, excel, outlook)
• Must have the ability to interact at all levels within the company and also with external customers.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a professional team.
• Highly motivated. Possess a “can do” attitude.
• Efficient time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and follow up.
• Ability to solve problems/troubleshoot.
